Permits & compliance
The permits and regulatory approvals the Authority operates under.
Current permits, agreements & approvals
- Operate a public water system (No. CS2370087, Georgia EPD) — up to 6.0 MGD with disinfection and fluoridation; current term through December 2026.
- Withdraw surface water (No. 117-0390-06, Georgia EPD) — raw-water volume from Lake Sinclair.
- NPDES general permit (GAG640000, 2026–2030, EPA / Georgia EPD) — filter-backwash discharge to the lake.
- Water withdrawal agreement (Georgia Power) — lake access under the Sinclair Dam FERC license.
- Source water assessment (Georgia EPD, October 2004) — approves Lake Sinclair as a supply source.
Monthly records go to Georgia EPD; the facility complies with the Georgia Safe Drinking Water Act of 1977 and the Rules for Safe Drinking Water (Chapter 391-3-5), with results in the annual Consumer Confidence Report.
